Plow Bolts

A plow bolt is similar to a carriage bolt, except the head is flat or concave, and the underside of the head is a cone designed to fit in a countersunk recess. Plow bolts get their name from their use in moldboard plows. They would provide a smooth surface attaching the moldboard to the beam where a raised head would suffer from soil abrasion. Today, plow bolts are used for a range of fastening applications that require a flush installation such as fence posts, road graders, scoop shovels, and even snowplows.
